Due to the abundant moisture from the southern foothills of the Himalayas and the warm climate of the valley, Medog's tea industry naturally enjoys favorable development conditions. Nowadays, Medog County of China’s Xizang has established 103 high-mountain organic tea gardens, with a total tea planting area of 1,267 hectares, and six tea processing enterprises. In 2024, the sales revenue of fresh tea leaves in Medog County exceeded 15 million yuan.
